I have years of experience as an Emotional and Behavioral Intervention Specialist.  I provide support to selected students in schools as well as in the home, grades Pre-K- Post Senior enrolled within Santa Clara County, CA. I have completed numerous Behavior Support and Behavior Intervention Plans at both the primary and secondary school level.  It was during this time I learned the importance of communicating effective behavior strategies, specifically in the home.  These particular strategies include succinct organizational tools and smooth scheduling techniques that begin when your child wakes up and heads off to school in the morning to when they return home after school, complete homework and transition to a relaxing stress-free bedtime.

I have years of experience as the Program Coordinator of a multi-million dollar behavior and reading grant at UNC Charlotte.  I provided behavior strategies to elementary age students within the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.  I was also a part-time professor at UNC Charlotte teaching courses in diversity and researched based-instructional strategies.   During my tenure at UNC Charlotte, I studied Positive Behavior Intervention Support while partnering with renowned experts Dr. Rob Horner and Dr. George Sugai at the University of Oregon.  In addition, I have extensive experience teaching and managing programs focusing on individuals with special needs from ages 3 to 22.

I have years of experience, as a Principal of a Special Needs school.   I analyzed and evaluated behavioral and socialization needs of students, developed behavior plans; participated in IEP meetings and coordinated and wrote behavioral goals and objectives. I received the prestigious “Service to Schools and the Community Award” and our school was the top fundraiser for Autism Speaks.  I also oversaw a high school civics project that involved students in writing and presenting California Bill 1742.  The Bill was signed by then Governor Schwarzenegger, and later renamed Spectrum Law, which allowed for increased technological accessibility and accommodations for students with special needs.

I have experience as a Curriculum Resource Teacher in the Lake Norman area. I provided curriculum training and support to teachers and assisted with curriculum implementation while focusing on Common Core Standards. I am a North Carolina licensed Principal and Curriculum Instructional Specialist.  I also have a credential in special education.  I received my doctorate in Educational Leadership at UNC Charlotte.
